Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, monster trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, monster trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster trucks can fly up to 125 to 130 feet (a distance greater than 14 cars side by side) and up to 35 feet in the air.

The Party in the Pits on Saturday, January 7^th from 11:00am – 12:45pm gives fans the opportunity to get a view of the trucks up close and meet the drivers of the massive monster trucks.

As parents, I think it's safe to say we're always looking for healthy and better options for our children to eat. Even better, healthy and enjoyable! I shouldn't even narrow it down to just our children but for the entire family.

I have found it so difficult to find a quick snack for my family, that we can grab on the go, or in the morning as we're dashing out the door, that I feel completely comfortable serving them.

But then along came these delicious granola bars...

Kashi's TLC Peanutty Dark Chocolate Layered Granola Bars. Oh.My.Goodness. I cannot even big to tell you how deliciously addictive these bars are.

Nutella Breakfast Party

There is absolutely positively no denying how much I love love love Nutella. If need be, I could live off just Nutella for the rest of my life. Just give me a spoon!

My favorite snack of all time? Pretzels dipped in the lovely hazelnut spread. I'm telling you. Try it!

Nutella is a tasty and unique hazelnut spread made with simple quality ingredients,

including roasted hazelnuts, skim milk and a hint of cocoa.

- Each 13 oz. jar of Nutella contains more than 50 hazelnuts.

- Does not contain any hydrogenated oil or trans fat.

- It is low in sodium compared to other nut butter.

- Contains no artificial colors or preservatives.

- It does not contain peanuts or peanut ingredients, nor does the

As huge of a Nutella fan I am, I will honestly admit, it hadn't occurred to me to incorporate it into our breakfast plans. Since breakfast is by far the most important meal of the day, I was beyond thrilled when I was sent goodie bags for my mommy friends & I to enjoy at our breakfast get together and included were recipe ideas.

My favorite recipe we tried was by far the Breakfast Sandwich and it's so simple and easy to make! I had to force myself to stop and take a picture before inhaling the rest of my sandwich. Yum!

Toast a whole grain honey oat English muffin and spread one half with Nutella spread, then top with fresh sliced strawberries. Voila!

Breakfast Roll Up: Spread a whole wheat tortilla with Nutella spread and sprinkle with dried cherries and chopped apricots, roll up and eat on the go. (Can be made with any variety of fruit!)

Waffle Sandwich: Toast 2 whole grain waffles. Spread one with Nutella, sprinkle with fresh fruit and coconut. Top with remaining waffle and cut like a sandwich. I have to say this was my second favorite recipe. We used strawberries and blueberries to make ours and some of my friends were grossed out by using coconut but that's the beauty of these recipes-- just leave out what you don't like it or substitute something else in it's place!

This book is perfect for sharing with a friend or loved one {anyone & everyone!} how the smallest acts of kindness can mean the world to the receiver. The pages are filled with beautiful illustrations and share real life stories of how one person has impacted and changed the storytellers life.

You Changed My Life is broken up into sections that allow you to easily navigate the stories of inspiration.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. It was hard to read through all the uplifting stories without getting emotional.

You may, or may not, know that before I decided to stay home with my son,

I was a manager at a salon and spa.

I loved it.

When I left I actually looked into becoming an esthetician because

I adored all the seminars I attended in Boston at a skin institute.

The Butterfly Effect, written by Andy Andrews, is a short story packed with a mighty punch of inspiration.

"A butterfly could flap it's wings and set molecules of air in motion, which would move other molecules of air, in turn moving more molecules of air-- eventually capable of starting a hurricane on the other side of the planet."

We're led through the lives of real men and shown how they have changed the world through their actions. Not only have they changed the world, but saved the lives of two billion people.

This is a short story filled with beautiful pages that can be read under an hour. Andy Andrews' words, "Your life... And what you do with it today. Matters forever." are words that you, as the reader, will hold onto and remind you how important even the simplest of your actions are.

How will our actions affect our lives? How will they affect others lives? And years from now? This is definitely a story that will keep you thinking. It's the perfect book to give as a gift or hold onto for yourself when you need a large dose of inspiration.

The Boy Who Changed The World (Review)

The Boy Who Changed the Word by Andy Andrews is a powerful book to not only read to your children, but also, to read for yourself. It is an illustrated book but I highly recommend it for all ages.

Andy Andrews is sharing his story The Butterfly Effect with our younger generation and teaching them that all of our actions (good and bad) are so very important and all have an impact.

We're led through the stories of four boys lives whose actions are intertwined and through their actions they are able to change the world. Andy Andrews ends the book telling our children, they too can be the boy/girl to change the world.

This will absolutely be a story I read, and read and read again, to my son and then hold onto for when he has children of his own. It really is that inspirational.

Definitely 5 out of 5 stars.

A Time To Dance {Review}

From the very first page, I just couldn't tear myself away from Karen Kingsbury's A Time To Dance.

I was quickly submerged into the story or John and Abby Reynolds. Childhood sweethearts who somehow found themselves falling out of love with each other all while their marriage is hanging on by broken threads.

Abby suspects John is cheating and John feels as though he lost Abby in years past to her work. The couple learn to trust in their faith to carry them in the right direction and as the reader you can't help but hope it leads them back to each other.

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I recently threw out our tube of toothpaste in our bathroom and told my husband

we were going to start brushing our teeth with soap.

Uncle Ben's Summer Party!!

I recently was given the chance to have an Uncle Ben's party to share with my friends their Whole Grain Brown Rice. Uncle Ben's carries a great variety of whole grain brown rices; Boil-in-Bag Whole Grain Brown Rice, Fast & Natural Whole Grain Instant Brown Rice, and Natural Whole Grain Brown Rice!

This party was so perfect for me. Last year we started the South Beach Diet and when I tell my friends most of them assume that you cannot have carbs at all. It's not true! We eat whole grain brown rice all the time-- and it's good!!

We had a great girls night laughing and cooking in the kitchen and made the yummiest recipes!! I love the Uncle Ben's Boil-in-Bag Whole Grain rice. The easier it is for me to cook the better!
My favorite recipe of the night was definitely this one:

Uncle Ben's Heart Healthy Boil-in-Bag Whole Grain Brown

Tex Mex Rice with Shrimp, Corn, and Lime

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 17 minutes

Serves: 5, one serving is 1 1/2 cups

Ingredients

2 Bags (uncooked) Uncle Ben's Boil-in-Bag Whole Grain Brown Rice

8 cups water

Corn kernels from 2 medium ears of fresh corn (about 1 1/2 cups)

10 counces shrimp, peeled and deveined

1 1/2 cups chopped fresh plum tomatoes

1/4 cup lime juice

3/4 to 1 teaspoon chili powder, to taste

1 teaspoon ground cumin

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, finely chopped

1 ripe avocado, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch cubes

Instructions

Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan and then add the unopened rice bags. Boil the rice for 11-12 minutes and then remove from the pan and drain. Place the rice in a large serving bowl and cook slightly.
While the rice is cooking, heat a medium skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add the corn kernels and sauté for 2 minutes. Add the shrimp to the pan and sauté for 3 minutes or until shrimp are cooked through.
Add the sautéed corn corn and shrimp to the rice and then toss in the tomatoes.
In a small bowl, combine the lime juice with the seasonings (chili powder through black pepper.) Drizzle the seasoned lime juice over the rice mixture and stir well to combine.
Add the cilantro and avocado and toss very gently.
Serve at room temperate.

I recently started using their Nappy Balm for Aidyn. Yes, he is almost three and potty training but we're in a transition period and I've found during this transition his skin has become even more sensitive. I love how silky the Nappy Balm is and it's packed with antioxidants.

The best part is that it has more than one use. I am all for a product that has multiple uses and stretches your dollar. Use it to soothe many skin conditions-- including cradle cap. And my personal favorite? After using it on Aidyn, I rub it around my cuticles and my hands soak it up! A tiny bit goes a long way with this product.

My husband washes his hands constantly so it's important

Sex and the City 2 Soundtrack {Review}

For the last few weeks I've been jamming out to this soundtrack.

I have to say, I was a little disappointed when I first started listening.

I was really hoping for a CD that would be that defining CD of the summer.

I was lost on the men's choir singing three songs-- I just couldn't get into the songs.

I even wasn't digging the girls of the movie singing.

But then I saw these pictures....

and I really think when I see the movie it will change my opinion.

It's always different when you can put an image or moment to the song.

But really... what CD do you listen to that you can honestly say you love every song?

The songs that completely won me over??

Jennifer Hudson and Leona Lewis singing Love is Your Color.

And Alicia Keys singing Empire State of Mind (Part II)

Those girls can really sing!!

I would definitely buy the album just for those two songs.

Now those songs are definitely going to be filling up my summer!

Warmer weather has finally made it around our area... and it's stayed!!

And when the warmer weather comes you can guarantee we'll be BBQing

and relaxing at night around our fire pit.

The key to great BBQ's are great music!

Lately, we've been listening to a lot of One eskimO.

I was sent the CD a few weeks ago and it's constantly in our CD player.

The song Kandi is my absolute favorite and it reminds me of the days I would

visit my husband at his college and we would have

huge get togethers at all the apartments on campus.

I'm not the only one who loves Kandi.

It's currently the #1 song on adult alternative--

Hand of Fate- Lis Wiehl with April Henry

A controversial talk show host, Jim Fate, is murdered in his radio studio by a package filled with a poisonous gas, sending the city into a panic of a terrorist attack. The list of suspects is a long one and a group of friends (known as the Triple Threat Club); Cassidy (crime reporter), Allison (federal prosecuter), and Nicole (FBI special agent) are on the case to solve the crime.

Hand of Fate is the second Triple Threat book and having not read the first book, I did not feel as if I were missing information from the first book. I'm a fan of crime fiction novels and I really found this was an easy read-- almost too easy. I wish there had been a bit more suspense and mystery but overall I wouldn't completely dismiss this book. If you're looking for a quick read then this is your book.

I would give it 3 out of 5 stars.

To dunk or not?

Growing up, my favorite cookies ever were Oreos. It was always such a treat when my friends and I would open up our lunch boxes at school and pull out a couple Oreos our parents had packed. I even remember when Double Stuff came out. You earned extra points in the cool column if you were packing Double Stuff!!

I was never one to dunk my Oreos in milk. It all sounded good but I much preferred to twist them apart, seeing if I could leave the creme middle perfectly in tact, scrape the creme off with my teeth and then savor the chocolate outsides. The outsides were my absolute favorite!

Now, I laugh when I sit down with my two year old son and we share Oreos. My son cannot stand chocolate-- he actually gags on it. How is this even possible?! But now I know we're the perfect pair. I crack the cookie open, he eats the creme middle, and I still get to savor the chocolate outside. A perfect pair we are indeed!

Martina McBride - Shine All Night Tour

Have you heard this song on the radio?!

I cannot stop singing it!

I am so in love with it!!

Even more in love with it now that I heard it live at Martina's

Shine All Night concert!

The whole concert was amazing.

This was my first country concert and really it was the best concert I've been to.

The whole concert was put together extremely well!

Sarah Buxton opened the show and she's so adorably cute and bubbly.

I've been seeing her on CMT a ton {I think she's actually their artist of the month.}

Her song Outside My Window totally brightens my day.

Trace Adkins was also a headliner... and boy oh boy he's the best to see live!

He's hilarious and Kelly and I agreed... sexy!

So tall. Such a deep voice.

Again-- Amazing!

I kept leaning over and whispering to my husband, "It's just like on TV!!"

And he kept leaning over and sarcastically saying, "How do you think this stuff gets on TV?"

He's real wise like that...

Haha!

Martina is so beautiful with a voice to match.

She really engaged with the whole audience.

The highlight of the concert for me was definitely

when she sang Concrete Angel.

She sat in this large moon that lit up and floated over the audience.

Ethan definitely caught me tearing up.

It's such an emotional song.

As soon as I figure out how to get the pictures I took off the camera I used

I'll post them! I definitely want to share the moon pictures.

Busytown Mysteries

Remember these characters?

I always loved that Lowly Worm.

There's just something about the one sneaker and bow tie that always got me.

I loved reading Richard Scarry's books growing up.

I was super excited when I heard there was now a show

based around his characters.

Busytown Mysteries.

With all the new shows that are out it's nice

to have familiar characters that I

can relate to and share with Aidyn.

Aidyn and I watched

The Falling Fruit Mystery and The Dragon Hunters.

I love the encouraged interaction the show offers.

Aidyn loves joining in and pointing out new things he's learned.

There was no exception watching these episodes!

Fancast is saving us money!

Fancast couldn't have found me at a more perfect time.

Ethan and I have been contemplating calling our

cable company and having a digital box installed

in our bedroom because:

a) We have a lot of shows that we like and wanted DVR to record them.

and

b) It was convenient hitting the guide button and finding out what was on TV

without interrupting the show that was currently on.

The main drawback was the money.

We would be spending hundreds of dollars a year for those luxuries.

Then I was asked to look over Fancast and give my opinion.

This was actually my first time hearing of the site.

I love how easy the site is to navigate.

They have it designed by Genre and by Network.

My biggest pet peeve with watching shows online was trying to figure out which network the show is on

and bouncing back and forth between sites to find the show I wanted.

It was beyond frustrating!

Fancast compiles all the shows, you click on the link, and they do all the work for you.

All you have to do is sit back and enjoy your show.

I do love that they have a whole section dedicated to Movies you can watch but

I only wish they would include a thumbnail of the movie.

I appeal to the visual and often know a movie by the cover rather than the title.

Give this site a try!

Especially if you're looking for an alternative to that expensive

digital cable box.

Eileen Goudge writes about two sisters who were separated

at a young age and put into foster care
after their mother was arrested.

One sister was adopted by a loving and nurturing family and

the other sister was bounced around from

one crummy foster family to another.

I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it.

She hit so close to home with her characters, Lindsay and Kerrie Ann.

My sister and I are about the same difference in age as

Lindsay and Kerrie Ann, my sister was adopted,

and we're both about as different as night and day.

Her story is real and authentic.

This is my first time reading anything by Eileen Goudge but
it will definitely not be my last.
I've also had the pleasure of talking to her on Twitter.
She is so genuine and takes time out of her day to acknowledge her readers.

Crazy Love

Am I the only one who has just heard of Michael Buble?
I really feel like I am.
And I am not happy about it.
Yes, I used my 'mommy' voice for that last sentence. Just so you know. Ha!

And now that I've learned about dear Michael that's all I've been seeing lately!
I opened my internet browser and there was a story about him,
I opened my People and there was another story about him,
I turn on the TV and there he is!

Doesn't it always seem like that happens?
I need to keep my eyes open a bit wider so I can
prevent this from ever happening again.

I was just listening to his new CD Crazy Love the
other day and well....
I fell in love.
And haven't stopped listening to it.

Whenever I get a new CD I always listen to the first
few seconds of each song to get a feel for it.
I usually make it through the entire disc and
then decide on which songs I want to go back to listen to.

However, I couldn't make it past Track 4 on this CD.
Which, appropriately, is Crazy Love.

Oh. My. Everythingthatisgreatinthisworld.
This is the best best best song!
It gave me goosebumps and I haven't
taken it off of repeat.

This song alone makes me want to renew my vows.
Just so I can have a reception.
Just so I can dance with Ethan to this song.

This isn't my first time listening to a CD or watching
a movie so much I have, literally, worn it out.
Just ask my Dirty Dancing VHS.

I digress...

The CD is amazing. All of it.
But especially Crazy Love.
It's life changing.

You'll listen. You'll swoon.
You'll thank me.
And I'll send a personal letter of apology to your husband.

Speaking of love.

Recently, Aidyn has been shouting his love
for everything off the rooftops.

My mom changed her tablecloth to her fall one that
has all different shades of oranges and yellows in it.
Aidyn walked in the house, noticed it right away and
declared, "I love it!"

I allowed Aidyn to stay up late one night last week while Ethan was out.
He stayed in bed with me and we watched a movie.
He looked at me and said,
"I love it, Mama. I love Mama's bed. I love Mama's room. I love it!"

Aidyn has one specific blanket he carries with him everywhere.
In an attempt to cover our behinds if we ever forgot it
somewhere we bought him a replacement.
When the replacement and the original ended up in the same room he declared...
You guessed it!
"I love it! I loooooooooove it!"

Magic Mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?

Over the weekend I was sent the Diamond Edition of
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
I quickly ripped it out of it's package and squealed a bit to everyone,
"Looky looky what I got!!"
.... "Um, actually, Aidyn look what we got."
Pshh, that's definitely what I meant.

I loooove Snow White.
There's just something magical
about the Disney Princesses.

Am I the only one that wants to make a mad
dash to the store when Disney has these
limited releases?!

My sister told me it was the first full-length animated movie made.
Ever.
She was right. It came out in 1937.
I just keep learning something new every day.

Aidyn's favorite movies are Cars and Finding Nemo
so I wasn't really sure if he would be that
interested in Snow White.

But, oh he was!

He was captivated from the very beginning.
I thought the Queen would terrify him

so Ethan & I referred to her as the Silly Queen
and he settled on calling her a Witch.
That works.

I laughed at lines I know I didn't
pick up on as a child.
Grumpy cracks me up.
Grumpy: Angel, ha! She's a female!
And all females is poison!
They're full of wicked wiles!
Bashful: What are wicked wiles?
Grumpy: I don't know, but I'm agin' 'em.

The Diamond Edition includes a Blu-ray Combo Pack
{DVD, Blu-ray disc, and a blu-ray bonus disc.}
We don't have Blu-ray but after reading this:
* Up to 6x better quality than DVD
* 7.1 Surround Sound
* Kid proof-more scratch resistant (hallelujah!)
* Plays both Blu-ray and DVD discs
I can definitely see why Ethan wants it so badly.

Now that the Playstation 3 is coming down in price
I might actually consider this as a Christmas present for Ethan!

I was so excited.
It's no secret I'm a hopeless romantic.
Listening to his CD makes me feel as though
I were transplanted into a wonderful romance movie.

He sounds fantastic singing unforgettable songs from unforgettable performers.

My absolute favorites are

Your Song {Elton John}
Smile {Charlie Chaplin}
Mona Lisa {Nat King Kole}

It's such a soothing CD I've
let Aidyn fall asleep to it at bedtime and
when he's awake he loves to dance around to his tunes.

Which means, I get to steal a Mommy & Son
dance here and there.

ROCK OF AGES Original Broadway Cast Recording CD,

You had me at Every Rose Has Its Thorn.

You have brought so much joy to our family since we opened your glorious case just a few short days ago.

Aidyn bee bops to the music.
I sing. Or try.
The songs are really catchy!
Don't judge. :)
Ethan plays Can't Fight This Feeling like it's going out of style.
Some may say it has-- but not us!!
And then we try to guess exactly what is going on in the story during each song.

We're pretty set on taking a bus to New York to see this on Broadway.
It has Constantine in it from American Idol! I'm a fan.

Thanks for making our car rides a blast!

Now I just have to go pry this CD out of my husband's hands so I can have a turn at listening
to it again!

Sun Burst Laundry {and a Giveaway!}

I'm very picky when choosing my laundry detergents. I need something that doesn't have an over powering smell because I easily get headaches, it can't irritate Aidyn's skin, and of course, it has to clean our clothes thoroughly. With the amount of times I have to wash Aidyn's favorite blanket because he drags it all over the ground I need a great detergent.

Yanni Voices

Two weeks ago I was sent an e-mail asking if I would be interested in going to see Yanni Voices in Boston. I don't know much about Yanni but I'm certainly not one to pass up an opportunity to broaden my horizon. And it being in Boston? Certainly sweetened the pot!

It wouldn't have been a trip to Boston-- or anywhere really-- without Ethan & I getting lost. I'm completely blaming the instructions we printed from the Internet. They made NO sense! A GPS would certainly be a great investment for us. We did get to drive by Harvard so I can't complain. I love being in the city!

Since we made our little detour through Cambridge, we made it to the concert just in the nick of time! As soon as our feet touched the floor of the stadium the lights went out. Thankfully, we were escorted to our seats because it was pitch black.

I couldn't believe the seats were given. Right up front and center-- I could see the wrinkles in Yanni's pants we were so close! I kid. They were perfectly starched.

I couldn't have asked for better people to be sitting with. It was such a diverse group and I couldn't help but giggle at the women in front of us squealing and dancing whenever Yanni, Nathan, or Ender stepped out on the stage. They were die hard fans and you really couldn't help but soak up their positive energy. I even joked with Ethan that Nathan was my new crush. I was-- of course-- kidding but he was the first person to come out and sing and his talent blew me away.

The concert was amazing! I'm such a sap so I really enjoyed the slower ballads . I really had no idea what they were singing but you could feel their emotion and I really had to hold back the tears. Ethan enjoyed the higher energy songs and they had a super cool violin battle and drum solo that had the entire crowd going crazy. It was definitely unlike any other concert I've been to.

We were told to bring our camera because we were also given tickets for the Meet & Greet after the show. After I checked the stadiums website and they said absolutely no cameras-- I was really unsure what to do. I thought I was being super sneaky by leaving my SLR at home and borrowing my in-laws point and shoot. I was being all stealth like hiding it in my purse pocket and my thrill of being such a rebel quickly died when every person we were sitting next to also had cameras and took pictures during the entire show. Oh well. And wouldn't it figure I forgot to take pictures until we were done with the concert!!

To top the night off, after we left the concert I ran into one of my high school friends. Such a small world!
